The Dry Stone Walls Association of Australia (DSWAA) fosters the preservation and contemporary interpretation of Australia's dry stone walls and structures. We are a not-for-profit organisation that is run by a volunteer Committee of Management. Our members come from a diverse range of backgrounds that include arts, architecture, heritage, planning, farming, mining and professional wallers and interested individuals.
The DSWAA aims to raise the awareness of the important contribution of the early settlers to the shaping of Australia's cultural landscape and advocate for the preservation of walls and the craft of walling at local, State and national levels. You will find more details about the Association's history and our range of activities and projects under 'About Us'. |
The Association was established in
Victoria
, but has an increasing membership base in other states, with active groups in
Tasmania
and
South Australia.
Advice to owners of walls, the conduct of local field trips and other events are features of the DSWAA's regional activities. If you are interested in forming a group in your local area, or you would like to join an existing group, please contact us.
We welcome enquiries from people interested in dry stone walls or who have walls or other dry stone structures on their properties. Details of membership of the Association are set out under 'Membership' and we always welcome new members from around Australia or overseas.
Enjoy your visit to our website, and please respond with your views, comments or news to us at enquiries@dswaa.org.au.
